Farmhouse Build: Our Kitchen Cabinets

Hey y'all! Thanks for following along with us as we've built our forever home...our dream, steel-frame farmhouse! We've almost completed all the projects for our home, but there are still a few, small details that we need to finish, such as the kids' linen closets and our outdoor, living area (i.e. pool and porch) in the backyard. Because we did so much of the build work ourselves, I had to put a halt on blog posts for a short while. Thankfully, we're almost finished, and I'm slowly, but surely, adding how-to posts and videos for everything related to our new home. In the meantime, you can see a lot of the pics/videos of our modern farmhouse by following along on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube. (Just a footnote: I'm on IG mostly, so that's where you'll find most of my updates, but I definitely share pics on FB as well!)

Now that I've shared with you details about our build, let's turn our attention to the custom cabinets in our home. We partnered with a fantastic company called Woodstone, and they manufactured our shaker-style, full-extension, and soft-close cabinets in both our master bathroom AND our kitchen. We absolutely love them, and they look fantastic!

Let's focus first on the Woodstone cabinets in our kitchen. We ordered almost 15 feet worth of cabinets for just the island alone, and because we wanted to add shiplap to the back and sides of the island, we asked Woodstone to send that set of cabinets unfinished. Obviously, the rest of our kitchen cabinets arrived completely finished!

Nick Caruso, the general manager of Woodstone, came and built our vent hood himself, and it looks so amazing! It's a beast, too!

In case you were wondering about the color of the hood, we chose to use a walnut stain. Our sweet daughter did all the staining, too! (She did this project as a surprise while I was at Haven last year!! She's such a sweetie pie!) The walnut stain compliments the black cabinets and white, concrete countertops beautifully!

If you'll look at the pic below, we decided to frame out the backside of our kitchen island with shiplap, in order to add contrast to our beautiful cabinets.

Some fun features that we chose for our kitchen cabinets: TWO refrigerators, a microwave drawer (LOVE that!!), and a hidden trashcan.

Now let's take a look at Woodstone cabinets in the master bathroom: We chose to go with the same cabinet style, but in white...shaker, full-extension and soft-close. Just like the kitchen cabinets, this vanity is custom, and I wish y'all could see it in person. The cabinets look so amazing in this space!!

The exact color name is called "Shaker White." We wanted one long vanity for our bathroom and only drawers (no cabinets doors), so that's what we got! In fact, our vanity is 128" long!!!! Woohoo!!

So, here we are! Don't y'all just LOVE our cabinets?! They're amazing, right?! And we get compliments about them ALL the time!
